Code and math

Both of these are their own block type, so they sit in the flow of the note rather than inside a paragraph.

Code

  1. Tap + in the editor's bottom bar and choose Code.
  2. A code block appears. Use the cog in its corner to pick the language you are writing in — Timeline ships highlighting for around fifty, from C and Python to Rust, Kotlin, Go and SQL.
  3. Type your code. Highlighting follows along.

The highlighting adapts to your theme — a light scheme in the light theme, and a dark one in the dark theme. Use the bin in the block's corner to remove it.

Math

  1. Tap + and choose Math.
  2. Write your LaTeX in the field. Timeline renders it as you type.
  3. Tap the pencil to go back to the source, or the tick to return to the rendered version.

The bin in the corner removes the block.

Both blocks export as text — code fenced in Markdown, maths as LaTeX — so they survive a trip through export.
