Timeline Documentation
Timeline is the Wiqis note-taking app. These guides cover everything from writing your first note to keeping it in step across your devices.
Pick a topic from the sidebar to get started.
Start here
- New to the app? Create, update and delete covers the basics, including the shortcuts that skip the editor entirely.
- Got a lot of notes? Notebooks and Tags are the two ways to file them.
- Looking for something? Search and filters will find it faster than scrolling.
- Using more than one device? Account, sync and backup explains how your notes follow you.
What Timeline can do
- Notes built from blocks: rich text, checklists, code, LaTeX maths, images, audio and drawings — reordered by dragging.
- Notebooks and tags for filing, twelve note colors, pinning, and an archive.
- Reminders that repeat on a schedule, with snooze.
- Text scanning straight out of a photo, and read-aloud for the whole note.
- Export to Markdown, HTML or PDF, on its own or zipped with its attachments.
- Automatic sync across devices when you sign in with a Wiqis account.
The two words you will see
- Notebook— the app used to call these categories. Every screen says notebook now; the only leftover is the button that assigns one, which still reads Categorize.
- Pin— pins a note to the top of your list. It is not an app lock.
