Tags
Tags cut across notebooks. One note can be in a notebook and carry several tags, which is what makes them useful for the questions notebooks cannot answer — everything due this week, everything about a particular project.
Tagging a note
- Open the note and choose Tag from the menu, or long-press it on your list and use the tag button in the selection bar.
- Tick the tags you want. Tap Done.
- To make a new one, type its name into the field at the top of the dialog and tap the tick.
Creating and managing tags
- Open the navigation drawer.
- Tap Tags— or find the Tags section and tap Edit, if you have turned on Tags In Drawer.
- Type into Create Tag and tap the tick.
- Tap a tag's row to rename it, then the tick to save or the bin to delete it.
- Long-press to select several and use Select All or Delete.
Deleting a tag leaves the notes that carried it alone.
Finding tagged notes
- Tap any tag chip on a note in your list to filter by it straight away. The chip above the list shows what is filtered and clears it when tapped.
- Pick a tag from the drawer to filter your whole list by it.
- Or use the Tag filter while searching — see Search and filters.
Tags in the drawer
By default tags are a single drawer entry that takes you to the full list. Turn on Tags In Drawer and they get their own section instead, with up to ten tags and their counts — see Appearance and settings. The Notebooks Before Tags setting decides which section comes first.
