Notes, links and markers

These all live under More Options on a selected node, and each one travels with the node when you move, copy or export it.

Notes

A note is a block of text attached to a node — a paragraph, a summary, or a longer explanation. Markdown works.

  1. Select the node and choose Notes from More Options.
  2. Type in the field and tap Save. Remove clears an existing note.

A small note icon appears next to any node that has one in the outline view.

Links

  1. Select the node and choose Link.
  2. Enter a URL, and optionally a title, then Save. An invalid address is rejected with Not a valid link.
  3. Once a valid link is set, Open link appears in the menu and opens it in your browser.

Markers

Markers are small icons and a priority number shown on a node.

  • The Icons section offers ten: idea, flag, star, bookmark, warning, question, pencil, attach, info and favorite.
  • The Priority section sets a number from 1 to 9. Tap the same number again to clear it.

Labels

Labels are short text chips that appear under the node. Add as many as you like by typing in the field and pressing Enter; remove them with the chip's cross. Clear removes them all, Remove takes the label off this node.

Relationships

A relationship draws a named, coloured line between two nodes — useful for showing that two branches depend on each other, or contradict each other.

  1. Select the node and choose Relationships.
  2. Give it a Label and a Color.
  3. Tick the other nodes it should connect to, then Save.

Boundaries

A boundary draws a labelled frame around a node and everything beneath it, so a whole branch reads as one group.

  1. Select the top node of the branch and choose Boundary.
  2. Set a Label and a Color, then Save.

Checkboxes

Nodes can carry a checkbox, turned on from the styling panel — see Styling and connections. It is a quick way to turn a branch into a checklist.
