Import from other apps
The importer understands Markdown, OPML, FreeMind, XMind, yEd GraphML and 123Mind's own format. Open it from the library's overflow menu (Import mind map), from the Import & Migrate card in the Tools tab, or from the Import outline home-screen shortcut.
What to expect
Before you choose files, the app explains what will and will not survive the move:
- Audio and comments from other tools do not come across.
- Task and progress details, and custom attributes, may not convert.
- Floating topics are re-attached to the central node.
- App themes do not convert.
- Markdown tables and inline images are not imported.
- Import is one-way: 123Mind cannot write a file another tool will read back as its own format.
Converting files
- Tap Choose files and select one or more files. The app detects each file's format.
- In the Convert files list, tick a file to import it into your library. Leave it unticked to convert it only and write out a 123Mind file.
- Use Choose tags to tag everything you are importing in one go.
- Tap Convert. The progress dialog shows which file it is on and can be cancelled.
- When it finishes, the Migration complete report shows how many files were imported, exported or failed, along with the content that was recognised — notes, hyperlinks, markers, relationships, boundaries, checkboxes, task dates and images.
Limits and gaps
- Files larger than 64 MB are not imported.
- MindManager
.mmapfiles are recognised and explained, but there is no importer for them yet. Export to OPML or Markdown from MindManager and import that instead. - Documents from the separate MindNode app are detected too. Export them from that app as Markdown, OPML or FreeMind first.
- There is no XMind export— XMind files can be read, not written.
Import is available on Android. The web build is experimental and cannot import files.
