Styling nodes and connections
Select a node and tap the Design button in the bottom bar. The panel that opens has two sections: Text Styling and Node Styling.
Text styling
- Increase Font Size and Decrease Font Size step the size up or down.
- Make Bold, Make Italic and Strikethrough toggle inline emphasis.
- The row of swatches underneath sets the text colour. The palette adapts to whether you are in the light or dark theme.
Node styling
- Corner Radius rounds the corners of the node, from square to fully rounded.
- Check / Uncheck Icon adds a checkbox to the node.
- The second row of swatches sets the background colour. The first swatch is transparent, so the node has no fill.
Making these the defaults
You do not have to style every node. In the editor's Settings, under General> Node Defaults, the same panel applies to every node in the map.
- Random Background Colors gives each node a different colour from the palette.
- Reset puts the defaults back.
Connection style
Set how the line between a node and its parent looks, from its More Options menu.
- Color opens a full colour picker.
- Width sets the line thickness.
- The shape is one of Curved, Straight or Elbow.
- Clear removes the override and returns the node to the map's default.
Defaults for the whole map
The editor's Settings dialog has a Connection tab that sets the look of every connection:
- Connection Type— Controlled Curve (a smooth cubic curve), Old Default (elbow) or Straight And Under.
- With Controlled Curve selected, four sliders — From MA, From CA, To MA and To CA— bend the curve in and out at each end. Connection Heads adds arrowheads.
- Connection Width and Connection Color set thickness and colour, each with its own reset.
Node text size is a stepper rather than a slider, and there is no font-family picker — 123Mind uses the app's own typeface throughout.
