Projects and labels
A project is a list of tasks — the shopping list, the work backlog, the reading list. A label is a tag you can put on tasks within a project to slice it a different way. Inside the app the label editor calls these tags.
Creating a project
- Open any task and tap the task list picker, which reads Select A Task List until you choose one.
- Pick Add at the bottom of the list and give the new project a name.
On a fresh install with no projects yet, tapping the picker takes you straight to the create dialog.
Projects tab
The Projects tab shows your projects as a grid of cards. Each one tells you:
- Its name, and how far along it is: 3 / 10 tasks with a progress bar.
- When it was created.
- A preview of the tasks inside it — tap Show tasks to expand it, and Hide tasks to collapse it again.
Tap a card, or use its menu and choose Edit Project, to open the project in the tree editor.
Editing a project
In the tree editor, choose Project from the menu. From there you can rename it, give it a deadline, and make it public.
- Add Deadline sets a date for the project as a whole.
- Set Key gives the project a short code you can use to find it again.
- Public makes the project visible to anyone with its key.
Use Create to add a new project or Update to save your changes to the one you are editing.
Labels
Labels belong to a project, so you pick them per project. In a task editor, tap Add Labels, or the tag icon once the project already has labels.
- Type a name in the field and tap the check to create a label.
- Tick the labels you want on this task. Tap Done.
- Remove a label from a single task with the × on its chip.
The pencil icon renames a label, the bin deletes it, and searching as you type narrows a long list.
Labels are shown as chips on task cards and can be used as filters while searching. Deleting a label does not remove it from tasks that already carry it, so you may need to tidy those up yourself.
