Tasks
Capturing a task
Tap the add button in the bottom right. A sheet titled New Task opens with one field — What needs to be done?
- Type the task and tap Add.
- Or tap More options to set a project and a priority before adding it.
- Or tap Full Editor to open the complete editor and fill in everything at once.
Use the full editor to file a task properly. A task only belongs to a project, and only a task with a project is attached to your account, so the quickest complete route is Add> Full Editor> pick a task list.
The editor
The editor has four tabs.
General
- Title— required. Placeholder: Title e.g. buy milk.
- Details— anything else you want to remember about it.
- Priority— one of Urgent, High, Medium or Low. Leave it unset if it does not matter.
- Subtasks— see Subtasks and the tree editor.
- The task list picker, showing the current project or Select A Task List.
- Labels— appears once the task is in a project.
- Add Reminder— see Reminders.
The menu at the top right of the title field offers Open in Tree Editor.
Subtasks
The same subtask list as the General tab, on its own page. See Subtasks and the tree editor.
Discuss
A thread of messages attached to the task, with a box at the bottom to add one. It only appears for tasks that are in your account and have been synced.
About
Read-only rows showing when the task was created, when it was last edited, its start date and its due date.
Saving
There is no save button. easyToDo saves when you leave the editor with the back arrow. A title is the only thing required — leaving it empty shows Title cannot be empty and stays in the editor.
Finishing, starting and deleting
- Tap the checkbox on a task card to mark it finished. The title strikes through.
- The menu on a card has Finished and In Progress.
- To delete a task, open it and tap the bin icon in the top bar, then confirm with Delete.
What a task card shows
- Its project, if it belongs to one, and the date it was created.
- Its labels and priority as chips.
- How many subtasks it has, or the subtasks themselves — see Settings and backup.
- When its next reminder rings.
Above the list, easyToDo keeps a running count: n todo · m done.
