Settings and backup
Open Settings from the menu at the top right of the main screen, or from More. It is grouped into six sections.
Appearance
- Dark Mode switches between light and dark. Left alone, easyToDo follows your phone's system setting.
- Material You tints the app with your wallpaper colours, on Android 12 and newer.
Tasks
- Tasks Grouping Policy— None keeps everything in one list; Unfinished & Finished puts finished tasks below the rest under their own headings.
- Task Children Display Policy— whether a task card shows no subtasks, a count such as +3 subtasks (the default), or the subtasks themselves.
- Sort By— see Search, filter and sort.
Projects
- Drop completed tasks below moves finished tasks to the bottom of a project card's preview.
- Max Tasks sets how many of them are shown, from 1 to 20.
Sync
- Sync Now— pull changes from your account.
- Show Sync Stats— the progress card described in Account and sync.
Data
Export and import move everything on the device, whether or not you use an account.
- Under Export, tap Export Zip Archive and choose where to save it.
- Under Import, set the Duplicate Strategy— Do not import or Overwrite— then tap Import Zip Archive and pick the file.
- Restart easyToDo. Imported data does not appear until you do.
Export before you reinstall or change phones. The archive is a zip containing a single data.json, so keep it somewhere safe.
Dashboard
This section lets you build saved sections with their own filters. It is prepared for a future release and does not change what you see yet.
